Terms of Service

1. Service purpose

AuthenSeal provides tools for creating and verifying technical records for digital content. The service may compute cryptographic hashes, request RFC 3161 timestamps, inspect or embed C2PA metadata where supported, generate public verification pages, and generate PDF certificates from stored seal metadata.

AuthenSeal is a technical and informational service. It does not guarantee legal validity, legal admissibility, authorship, ownership, authenticity, regulatory compliance, or that a file has not been modified outside the checks performed by the service.

2. User accounts

Some features require an account. You may register using email and password or use supported external sign-in providers such as Google, if configured.

You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity performed through your account. You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date where relevant.

3. Acceptable use

You must not use AuthenSeal to:

• Upload, process, or distribute content that you do not have the right to use.
• Misrepresent authorship, ownership, consent, provenance, verification status, or certificate meaning.
• Use certificates, seals, labels, or verification pages to deceive others.
• Attempt to bypass plan limits, rate limits, authentication, authorization, or security controls.
• Upload malware or content intended to harm systems, users, third parties, or the service.
• Use the service for unlawful, infringing, abusive, misleading, or fraudulent activity.

4. Uploaded content: ownership and permissions

You retain any rights you already have in content you upload. AuthenSeal does not claim ownership of your uploaded files.

By uploading content, you grant AuthenSeal permission to process that content as needed to provide the requested feature, including hashing, validation, C2PA inspection or embedding, timestamping, AI-signal analysis, certificate generation, file labeling, image/PDF processing, and returning processed downloads.

You are responsible for ensuring that your uploads and use of the service do not violate third-party rights or applicable law.

5. Certificates and verification limitations

AuthenSeal certificates and verification pages are generated from technical metadata stored by the service, such as hashes, timestamps, declarations, C2PA metadata where available, and public verification tokens.

A matching hash may indicate that a checked file matches a previously sealed file. It does not, by itself, prove authorship, ownership, consent, truthfulness of a declaration, legal validity, or compliance with any legal, contractual, platform, or industry requirement.

Public verification URLs may expose selected seal metadata such as filename, hashes, declaration text, content-origin label, timestamps, C2PA-related metadata, and certificate details.

6. AI-analysis limitations

AuthenSeal may display AI-related signals or labels based on C2PA metadata, known generator indicators, file metadata, user declarations, and lightweight analysis implemented in the application.

AI-related output is informational only. AuthenSeal does not guarantee that content is human-created, AI-generated, mixed, authentic, compliant, or correctly classified.

7. Paid plans and Stripe billing

AuthenSeal may offer free and paid plans with different limits and features. Paid subscriptions, checkout, payment processing, and billing management are handled through Stripe.

Plan changes may be applied after AuthenSeal receives confirmation from Stripe webhooks. If billing fails, is cancelled, or a subscription ends, AuthenSeal may downgrade or adjust the account according to the implemented plan logic.

Prices, plan limits, and feature availability may change. The current plan information displayed in the application applies at the time of use or checkout, subject to Stripe confirmation and applicable subscription terms.

8. Suspension and termination

AuthenSeal may suspend or terminate access where reasonably needed to protect the service, enforce these Terms, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, or respond to security risks.

You may delete your account from Settings where available or contact AuthenSeal for account-related requests. Some records may need to be retained or handled separately where they are connected to security, billing, verification, or legal obligations.

9. Service availability and changes

AuthenSeal may change, limit, suspend, or discontinue features. Some features depend on third-party services, including hosting, Google OAuth, Stripe, email delivery, timestamp authorities, and C2PA tooling.

AuthenSeal does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every file type, metadata format, C2PA manifest, timestamp authority, browser, device, or third-party integration will always work.

10. Limitation of liability

AuthenSeal provides technical tools and informational outputs. You are responsible for deciding whether a certificate, verification page, timestamp, C2PA record, AI-related signal, or processed file is suitable for your intended use.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AuthenSeal is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, business interruption, reputational harm, or claims arising from misuse or misunderstanding of technical verification outputs.

11. Governing law

These Terms are intended to be governed by the law applicable to the operator of AuthenSeal once the contracting entity and jurisdiction are formally confirmed. Until then, nothing in these Terms is intended to remove mandatory consumer or data-protection rights that apply to you under applicable law.

12. Changes to these Terms

AuthenSeal may update these Terms when the service, pricing, providers, configuration, or legal requirements change. The version shown on this page is the current public version for AuthenSeal.
